To put this into context, there is a .20% increase of hate crimes from 2017-2021. While there is a 4% increase from 2021-2024. That is a .20% increase over 4 years versus a 4% increase over 3 years. A significally larger increase over a shorter time is insane, despite the small numbers, that is millions of Queer Americans being the victims of hate crimes.

These are the amounts of Queer youth who have seriously considered suicide in the last year. Not only are these numbers too large, 90% of these kids were not white, yet all we hear about are the white children contemplating suicide. This isn't the only instance where 90% is seen. 90% of Queer youth also report feeling their wellbeing negatively affected by recent politics.

This is the reality of Queer children, the knowledge that they are more likely to kill themself or watch their friends kill themselves than their straight and cisgendered peers. This is the reason Queer Hate needs to be addressed, because children are dying.
